Dr. Dat Le was born and raised in Vietnam and made the courageous move to the United States at the age of 17 to pursue a brighter future. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at San Antonio before completing his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at the Woody L. Hunt School of Dental Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso.
During his time in dental school, Dr. Le was recognized for his dedication to excellence—receiving multiple awards in esthetic dentistry, oral pathology, and research, particularly for his work studying calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumors. But beyond his academic accomplishments, what truly defines Dr. Le is his heart for service.
As a long-time resident of El Paso and an active member of the community, Dr. Le has spent the last four years deeply involved in outreach efforts aimed at improving oral health education and access. He’s served as a leader in the dental outreach committee, working to raise awareness of how oral health impacts overall wellness. His volunteer efforts include participating in events such as the Texas Mission of Mercy, Give Kids a Smile, and partnering with GiGi’s Playhouse to provide oral health education for children with Down syndrome.
Dr. Le is also passionate about mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals. Through the Medventure Program at TTUHSC, he has helped young students explore science and healthcare through hands-on learning experiences.
At El Paso Family Dental, Dr. Le is committed to providing high-quality, compassionate care to every patient he meets. He takes the time to listen, educate, and ensure each person feels comfortable and respected.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Le enjoys spending quality time with his wife and is excited to welcome their baby boy soon. One of his favorite hobbies is caring for fish—he keeps several aquariums at home and even rescues Betta fish from families who can no longer care for them.
Dr. Le is proud to serve the El Paso community and looks forward to building lasting relationships with every patient he meets.
